The Communications Regulators’ Association of Southern Africa (CRASA) is convening the second meeting of the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) from 8th to 10th February 2023. The meeting will be hosted virtually by CRASA from 09h00 to 17h00 Central African Time (CAT).
The ECC meeting shall finalise the implementation of the Committee’s Annual Operational Plan 2022/23 by considering the development of a Position Paper on the harmonized use of a 6GHz band focusing on5G/IMT2020, Wi-Fi 6E and Satellite Services; the development of Regulatory Recommendations for the Establishment and Operationalisation of the SADC TV Channel and the SADC Content Aggregation Guidelines suitable for the Channel; and the development of the SADC Guidelines for Mutual Recognition of Type Approval and Conformity Assessments of Electronic Communications Equipment.
The meeting shall also consolidate inputs from Committee Members towards the development of the CRASA Strategic Plan 2023-2028; and further establish projects for the Annual Operational Plan 2023/24.
The Electronic Communications Committee is currently chaired by Botswana with Namibia as the Vice-Chairperson.
